About The Plane

Your classroom is a 1946
Piper Super Cruiser, also known as a PA12.
It is powered by a Lycoming O-235 producing 100 hp. It is an honest forgiving airplane. However it is not so forgiving that it hides
your mistakes like so many of today’s training aircraft. Rather this is an aircraft that rewards its
pilot for his (or her!!) skill. If you
never “Got the Hang” of coordinated flight, you will in this aircraft!!
The plane was restored by Joe
(an FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic) in 2003. While the plane is truly a classic, it has
been updated where appropriate.
1)
The engine is
freshly overhauled and complies with all modern FAA directives.
2)
The plane has
modern anti-collision warning strobes.
1)
The avionics
include state-of-the-art radio, GPS, and mode C transponder. This enables the aircraft to operate safely
in all airspace.
